JAYLIN LUCAS

Florida State had an underrated pickup in the transfer portal with Indiana sophomore running back/special teams returner Jaylin Lucas. While everyone may discount the acquisition, the special teams aspect is very important to head football coach Mike Norvell.

The Seminoles have had success in the return game the last two seasons with wide receivers Mycah Pittman and Keon Coleman. It seems as though Lucas could acclimate very quickly to help Florida State dominate in that phase of the game.

During his two seasons with the Hoosiers, Lucas had 43 kickoff returns for 1,163 yards and 3 touchdowns. As Florida State fans, we see what happens when you have great special teams play with former players such as Greg Reid, Kermit Whitfield (amazing moment against Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game), and Keith Gavin (memorable moment versus Michigan in the Orange Bowl)

Lucas is considered as "lightning fast" with the football in his hands. He can take it the distance. I am excited to see how his speed translates to the workouts.
