SHAWN MURPHY

Florida State football fans all concern themselves with the linebacker position. It is met with good reasoning since redshirt seniors Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune have exceeded their eligibility.

While we pretty much know what redshirt junior DJ Lundy is a player (a good run-stopper), the other linebackers in the rotation are a bit unproven at this time.

One recent transfer portal acquisition that I am excited about is former Alabama redshirt freshman linebacker Shawn Murphy. It may be difficult to get excited about a player who only had 5 total tackles during his two years with the Crimson Tide, but the former four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle is ready to make his presence known with the Seminoles.

This could be an opportunity for Murphy to impress the coaches right away and earn a meaningful spot in an open linebacker room filled with unproven players.
