Three FSU football players that I am excited to see at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine
DT BRADEN FISKE
Florida State was able to land Western Michigan defensive lineman Braden Fiske via the transfer portal this offseason. Fiske finished with 59 total tackles (12 tackles for loss) and 6 sacks in 2022 with the Broncos. As a result, fans knew that they would likely be getting a productive veteran presence on the defensive line.
The redshirt senior continued his level of production in Tallahassee where he finished his final season with 43 total tackles (9 tackles for loss) and 6 sacks. He saved his last performance in the ACC Championship Game versus the Louisville Cardinals where he had 9 total tackles (4.5 tackles for loss) and 3 sacks in a game where the Seminoles needed every defensive stop.
Even though Fiske did not play in the Orange Bowl matchup versus Georgia (I don't blame him after his team did not get the opportunity to compete for the College Football Playoff), he made an appearance in the Reese's Senior Bowl where he was awarded MVP honors for his performance.
He finished with 4 tackles (1.5 tackles for loss) and 0.5 sacks. It seems like Fiske has moved himself up the NFL Draft boards where he is projected to go in the second or third round. However, if he keeps showcasing his athleticism and skill set, it could be difficult for teams to pass on.
