Takeaways from Mike Norvell speaking to the media after Tuesday's practice
SPRING GAME WILL NOT BE A GAME FORMAT
Spring games are conducted differently throughout the college football landscape where some treat it as a regular game, some have the offense and defense compete against each other, and some use it as a glorified practice.
Norvell emphasized the fact that Saturday will not be a game format, it will be a showcase where the football team is getting better with their techniques. The main portion of the scoring will be involved with the grand finale which features former players from the 1999 national championship team.
I am personally not a huge fan of not having a game format when it comes to the spring. However, the coaching staff seems to be cooking with hot grease in terms of production on the field with a combined 23-4 record over the last two seasons.
My ultimate hope is that fans can enjoy themselves as the Seminoles can give them a sneak peek of what the 2024 version of the team will look like as we are only a couple of months away from the season opener versus the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Ireland on Saturday, August 24th.
