WR MALIK BENSON

Florida State added Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown to help soften the blow of losing big-bodied pass catchers Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson to the NFL.

Benson looks like he is primed to be the number-one receiver in the Seminoles' offense. That is a big expectation for a player that only had 162 yards and one touchdown during the 2023 season with the Crimson Tide.

However, the program is starved for playmakers to emerge and he has been the most consistent of the bunch thus far. I wonder if it would be a smart investment to have the potential number one receiver be the starting punt returner.

You never want injuries to happen especially at the position where there are not many proven playmakers. However, I always say that you cannot worry about injuries. Football is a contact sport. The coaching staff needs to put its best athletes out there to help the team win. Benson wouldn't be my first option (Lucas would be) but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea.
