Florida State finished its 2023 season with an undefeated regular season and a conference championship. There is a lot to be proud of in terms of success within head football coach Mike Norvell's program even with the blowout exhibition matchup versus Georgia and the College Football Playoff committee snub.

Norvell understands that it won't be easy when you try to replicate the success of last year. Quarterback Jordan Travis, wide receiver Keon Coleman, and defensive end Jared Verse won't be running through the tunnel in 2024.

It is also worth mentioning that Florida State only returns 56% of its returning production from a season ago (88th in the FBS). As it stands with that number, it is not the end all be all. The program should not be shaking at their boots with the lack of returning production.

That is the nature of college athletics. Players move on every season and new contributors have to step up in their place. Norvell does a tremendous job with acquiring talent via the transfer portal where he was able to obtain notable pieces such as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, wide receiver Malik Benson, and defensive end Marvin Jones Jr.

Overall, there are over 40+ newcomers that have been welcomed into the program this offseason. With that being said, the early portion of the schedule for the 2024 season is doable for Florida State as they play the likes of Georgia Tech (Ireland), Boston College, Memphis, California, and SMU.

This schedule could be a whole lot more treacherous but it is manageable for a team that needs to gel together. I think the Seminoles could start the season with a 5-0 record if they can avoid a collapse versus SMU on the road in the week before they play Clemson.

The Vegas over/under win total has the Seminoles at 9.5. I think that Florida State could exceed their expectation and make it back to the ACC Championship Game (ironically enough I believe they will play the Miami Hurricanes... I know, I think it is gross too).

I do not believe that the fan base will have to temper their expectations that much. This is a program that is now learning how to win consistently.
