Q&A with Class of 2025 four-star offensive lineman target Ziyare Addison
FSU football has the fourteen-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. One of the top targeted prospects is four-star offensive lineman Ziyare Addison from Sumner High School in Riverview (FL). We at ChopChat decided to conduct a Q&A with the talented prospect.
Q: What was it like getting a visit from head football coach Mike Norvell?
A: "The whole school went nuts when Coach Norvell dropped by today! It was awesome seeing him in person again. It let me know that I'm a top priority for FSU."
Q: How did it feel when you received an offer from Florida State?
A: "Earning that first offer. That offer from Florida State was a game-changer. It was my first camp ever, and I was just a sophomore weighing 240 pounds! They saw something special in my athleticism and competitive spirit, even when I was still learning the ropes at left tackle."
Q: I know you have a great relationship with offensive line coach Alex Atkins, how has that relationship developed over time? Any other coaches that you speak to?
A: " Coach Atkins is a phenomenal coach. He's a natural teacher with a great communication style, and I've learned so much from him. I also talk regularly with Coach Norvell and the offensive coordinator, which shows how invested the whole staff is in recruiting me as a player."
Q: Where do they envision you playing on the offensive line? Where are you most comfortable?
A: "I'm a true left tackle, like a modern-day All-Pro Chris Samuels. I'm comfortable protecting the blindside and being a dominant force in the run game. One coach even told me that I'm the most athletic offensive tackles in the Class of 2025 and I'm very hard to find a player with my size and quickness."
Q: As you narrow down your recruitment, what factors are you looking into?
A: "Besides family comfort, I'm looking for a winning program where I can be challenged and develop both as a player and a person. FSU checks those boxes, thanks to the strong relationships that I've built there."
Q: Where does FSU stand in your top schools?
A: "FSU is in the mix. I don't have a top list yet, but FSU is high up there. The years of connection with the coaches and the overall program makes it a very appealing option."
Q: When do you plan on visiting Florida State again?
A: "I'll be back at FSU sometime in the spring to see more and get to know the players on the team so that I can have a deeper feel for the team. It's a school that I'm seriously considering."
