Positive injury developments by Norvell about WR Benson and OL Ferguson
OL TJ FERGUSON
Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell had his run on Alabama Crimson Tide players in the transfer portal. Norvell decided to turn down the offer to coach the Crimson Tide after legendary coach Nick Saban retired in January. He then elected to sign an extension with Florida State.
Offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins is considered as one of the best assistant coaches on the coaching staff. Atkins has a way of relating to the kids that he recruits and has been a big reason for the Seminoles' offensive line improvement.
Florida State had to replace the likes of starting interior offensive linemen Casey Roddick and D'Mitri Emmanuel. This would not be an easy task as offensive linemen are a hot commodity in the transfer portal for opposing teams.
Luckily, the Seminoles found Alabama's interior offensive lineman TJ Ferguson. The former four-star prospect had a great relationship with Atkins in high school. Ferguson looks to be one of the starting guards in the rotation. It is great to see that the injury in the spring showcase was not serious as him and Richie Leonard IV (transfer from Florida) could be a huge factor in the Seminoles' success in 2024.
