Florida State football enjoyed the successes of the past two seasons where they have a combined 23-4 record. The Seminole fan base needs to point out the fact that they have run laps around arch-rivals Florida and Miami recently.

Head football coach Mike Norvell (much like baseball coach Link Jarrett) has developed an identity in the program. It seemed like the Seminoles were considered rock bottom as a university after the historic home loss to FCS opponent Jacksonville State in 2021.

However, the squad continued to put their head down and get better. The fan base over the past two years has made their presence known in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. The atmosphere is known as one of the most intimidating environments in all of college football.

However, renovations are always happening with college football stadiums. More recently, the stadium underwent construction to add the Champions Club. It is a debatable topic that some fans do not want to talk about since there are usually some empty seats within the club seating since most individuals are inside the air-conditioned room.

The once 83,000+ fan capacity is no more. It only gets worse as the home west sideline is undergoing construction to more of a luxury seating experience for fans.

The above image showcases the construction that is underway. The 2024 season will not have the same feel as last year where the renovations are expected to be completed by the Seminoles' 2025 season opener versus the Alabama Crimson Tide.

I get both sides of the argument. I don't want to dwindle the seating capacity to 60,000 fans in Doak Campbell Stadium. The environment is one of the top 15 most hostile stadiums in college football.

Fans will have to spend the entire 2024 season sitting in a massive construction zone. Hopefully, this will be worth the investment for a live college football audience that often values comfort over the overall experience nowadays.
