On3's Steve Wiltfong puts in expert prediction in favor of FSU for talented OL
The world of recruiting has been turned upside down with Florida State football's struggled to have success as they have losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, and SMU. The program has already lost the services of four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, and four-star wide receiver Malik Clark.
The program did recently add a commitment with four-star running back Byron Louis. He is high school teammates with four-star cornerback commit Gregory Thomas and defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. used to be his head football coach.
Florida State is ranked 35th-best recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Recruiting could be looking bleak with the losing. Florida State has a chance to make an impression this weekend as they take on the Clemson Tigers in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
The Seminoles are 14.5-point underdogs after the disappointing loss to the SMU Mustangs last week. To be honest, I am surprised that the betting number isn't higher. Nonetheless, Florida State is trying to get back on the right track.
Recruits are trying to find a positive in the program with all of the negativity surrounding Florida State. The coaching staff is trying to generate some momentum.
The good news finally seem to arrive on Thursday afternoon as On3's Steve Wiltfong put in an expert prediction in favor of Florida State for Class of 2025 three-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis from Seminole Ridge High School in Loxahatchee, Florida.
He is high school teammates with four-star linebacker target Ty Jackson. Louis will be officially visiting Florida State this weekend for the Clemson game so the Seminoles could secure the commitment.
Florida State has commitments for five-star Solomon Thomas and four-star Peyton Joseph in the recruiting class. The plan was for the Seminoles to secure at least three (possibly four) in the fold with several veterans leaving after this season.
