WIDE RECEIVER VERNELL BROWN

Let's start off by discussing four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida (former teammates with current Florida State quarterback Trever Jackson). Brown III recently dropped a top eleven schools list, which included the Seminoles.

The talented pass catcher came to Tallahassee a few weeks ago to attend Florida State's Junior Day event. During the 2023 season, Brown III recorded 70 receptions for 1,363 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense. He was also a factor on special teams where he had four touchdowns (three punt returns and one kickoff return).

However, the Seminoles have their work cut out for them as the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes are heavily involved in the recruitment. Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has had a resurgence in his recruiting prowess where he is securing highly-touted pass catchers.

It would be great to see Florida State keep the Florida native in state.
