DT TOMIWA DUROJAIYE

This might be a sleeper pick including West Virginia defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye. During his redshirt freshman campaign in 2023, he recorded 23 total tackles (six for loss) and 3.5 sacks with the Mountaineers.

It had to be difficult for the program to lose such a talented defender. It is easy to see why he selected the Seminoles given what they have done in terms of developing defensive linemen to the professional ranks.

Durojaiye is a bit of a tweener right now. He is listed at 6'4" and 278 pounds. We already discussed how talented Florida State is at the defensive end position. You can never have enough pass rushers. However, if the Seminoles could bulk up his frame, defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins could be licking his chops at the opportunity to coach him.

Durojaiye is currently working in the defensive tackle position. I realize that the Seminoles have players such as Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr. as potential starters at defensive tackle. However, the coaching staff likes to rotate its defensive tackles like we saw last season with a talented veteran such as Fabien Lovett Sr.

I would not be surprised if he is a dark horse to start for the Seminoles in 2024.
