DEFENSE WAS THE WINNER OF THE DAY

As a wise man once said: "Defense wins championships".

Head football coach Mike Norvell stated to the media that the defense won the day. Overall, this is to be expected. Even last year, when veteran quarterback Jordan Travis was leading the charge, there were moments early on in the spring when the defense looked dominant.

This is common for the offense to struggle to put their game plan in place as the Seminoles are trotting out at DJ Uiagalelei (new transfer), Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, and Trever Jackson. The room itself has not had a ton of snaps under its belt in a Norvell offensive system.

Plus, you have to remember that it is only the spring. If this was late into fall practice then it would be a bit concerning. The Seminoles' defensive unit still has pieces on it such as Patrick Payton, Darrell Jackson Jr., Marvin Jones Jr., DJ Lundy, Azareye'h Thomas, Fentrell Cypress II, Earl Little Jr., Shyheim Brown, and Conrad Hussey.

That defense is really special and could be one of the best in the country if it puts everything together. Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller is going to have fun guiding this defense.
