DEFENSIVE LINE STAR POWER

Florida State football fans understand the importance of having elite defensive linemen. The program saw contributors such as Jared Verse, Fabien Lovett Sr., and Braden Fiske move on to the NFL.

With every college football program, they have to rebuild and reload the depth that is missing. While Florida State is a transfer portal destination with defensive ends, the Seminoles are looking to add some talented pieces in the recruiting ranks after this weekend.

The Seminoles will be hosting pieces such as four-star defensive end Javion Hilson (FSU commit), four-star defensive end Jalen Wiggins (UF commit), four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, and four-star defensive tackle Kevin Wynn.

While Hilson is committed to Florida State, other schools such as Texas, Alabama, and UCF have been involved with flipping him. Right now, I feel solid about Florida State keeping him in the class. The Seminoles need to get at least three defensive linemen in the class.

Two prospects that I would monitor for this weekend's visitor list would be Wiggins and Charles. Even with Wiggins being committed to the arch-rival Florida Gators, he is from the Tallahassee area and has visited the campus several times. Plus, the Gators could be in deep trouble with their difficult schedule in 2024.

As for Charles, he has been trending to Florida State for quite some time. Looks like defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins has found a prospect that he is comfortable with. The Florida native could be a foundational piece in the Seminoles' defensive line position group.
