Jersey numbers revealed for two former Florida State football players
Florida State football had ten players selected from its roster in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Seminoles had success during the 2023 season where it accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship.
The Seminoles did not accomplish their ultimate goal of competing for a national championship due to the playoff committee thinking that Florida State was nothing when they lost quarterback Jordan Travis to a season-ending injury.
However, the truth of the matter is that the Seminoles had several players on its roster that were NFL talent other than Travis. This will certainly haunt the fan base for some time.
On a brighter note, jersey numbers were assigned to a couple of notable Seminoles. The San Francisco 49ers announced their assigned numbers. Two draft picks from Florida State with the 49ers were cornerback Renardo Green and linebacker Tatum Bethune.
Green is listed as wearing No. 31 while Bethune is wearing No. 48. If you are a Seminole fan who is a 49ers fan, here is a tweet that features all of the draft class.
I am not a huge fan of Green wearing the 31 jersey number. I would've thought that his number would have been in the 20s with being a cornerback. However, the talented defensive back has dealt with a ton of adversity when in Tallahassee after switching from cornerback to safety and then back to cornerback. He had a highly successful senior campaign where he locked up ultra-talented wide receiver Malik Nabers.
As for Bethune, I know he is grateful for the opportunity to be drafted by an NFL team. He was a good collegiate linebacker for the Seminoles. He dealt with some injuries last season (just like other players on the roster). However, this could be a chance that Bethune could play meaningful snaps if he showcases his skill set.
Overall, I am so happy for these young men to accomplish their lifelong dreams.
