Is FSU the team to beat for 4-star RB target Byron Louis?
Florida State currently does not have a running back prospect committed to their 2025 recruiting cycle. However, the Seminoles set their sights on two targets in four-star Ousmane Kromah and four-star Byron Louis.
I understand that running back is not much of a need for the program. With that being said, the Seminoles are having to replace contributors such as Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and Roydell Williams after this upcoming season.
The core foundation of head football coach Mike Norvell's offensive scheme is effectively running the football. They love to throw the football downfield, but they have to find ways to keep opposing defenses honest.
Speaking of recruiting targets, four-star running back Byron Louis from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida is someone who the Seminoles are heavily pursuing. Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has the obvious relationship with Louis since he was the former head football coach at the high school.
The talented back has visited Tallahassee on several occasions. The relationships among the coaching staff have stood out to Louis.
According to On3's Chad Simmons, it seems like Florida State has emerged as the team to beat for his services. Simmons alludes to the point that Surtain Sr. has made a difference in the race for Louis.
Originally, I was worried about the Ohio State Buckeyes since he had a crystal ball prediction in favor of them earlier in the year. However, Florida State has started to take control.
It is easier said than done though. Florida State has not secured a commitment since the month of January when four-star defensive end Javion Hilson de-committed from Alabama and flipped to the Seminoles after legendary head football coach Nick Saban retired.
The coaching staff has to finish the task and reel in some highly-touted prospects that will be difference-makers for the future foundation of the program.
