Is Florida State football slipping in offensive line recruiting for the 2025 cycle?
Florida State football sits outside the top 50 in the 247Sports Composite rankings. This is something that Seminole fans are not accustomed to because they are a program that have a ton of winning traditions.
However, individuals are nervous about the recruiting efforts since Florida State only secured four commitments with five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.
It is important to note that it is only June, but I believe that people are impatient when they don't see commitments fluttering with the program having a combined 23-4 record over the past two seasons.
I wrote an article talking about offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins has showcased his recruiting prowess with developing relationships with a variety of recruits and transfers. Recruiting is ever-changing and it involves teenagers making one of the more difficult decisions of their lifetime.
Two pivotal targets of the Seminoles' offensive line recruiting board have now trending elsewhere with four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison committing to Oregon and cancelling all of his remaining official visits and four-star interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover getting predictions to the Georgia Bulldogs after his recent official visit with the program.
Both Addison and Glover were seen to be moving in a great direction with Florida State. The coaching staff is now having to pivot to other targets such as five-star Josh Petty, five-star Ty Haywood, four-star Payton Joseph, four-star Max Buchanan, four-star Lamont Rogers, four-star Mario Nash Jr., and unranked Musa Bajaha.
There is plenty of talent to go around in that target board. However, it is quite disappointing to see the Seminoles trending away from Addison and Glover. My hope is that Atkins can continue to develop relationship with other prospects as Florida State looks to be a destination for other offensive linemen.
