Highly-touted recruits had opportunity to wear "Seminole Heritage" jerseys
Florida State's football coaching staff hosted several highly-touted prospects on campus this weekend as the month of June is quickly reaching its halfway mark. The Seminoles still only have four commitments within its recruiting class.
The program has not secured a prospect since four-star defensive end Javion Hilson flipped his pledge from Alabama to Florida State in January. The fan base is wondering when the Seminoles will obtain their next prospect.
Head football coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff always value relationships and getting the right fit for Florida State regarding recruiting. It is not something that every staff does across the college football landscape. However, Norvell has seemed to crack the code regarding getting the right mixture of recruits and transfers.
The program does not need fancy cars (speaking to you, Texas) to persuade kids to commit to the university. The Seminoles currently possess a 23-4 record over the past two seasons and would have made it to the College Football Playoff if they did not get snubbed by the committee after going undefeated.
Even though Florida State does not need fancy cars to get things done, they have their sweet, new N7 turquoise jerseys that recruits seem to love. It seemed like every prospect that visited this weekend wanted to take a photo shoot in them.
While I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to uniforms, I believe that when you feel good, you play well. I am all in favor of the kids having fun. I do believe that the garnet and gold is the best uniform combination in all of college football (I sound like such an old man when I say that).
I do expect the Seminoles to wear the "Seminole Heritage" jerseys at some point during the season. It will most likely be when Florida State takes on Charleston Southern in November. Nonetheless, I hope recruits had an enjoyable time getting to wear the new jerseys.
