LOSING FIVE-STAR COMMIT TRAVIS HUNTER

I just want to apologize for bringing up the PTSD that Seminole fans have struggled in recent years. God has given his toughest battles to the Florida State football fan base throughout the years.

However, as we have seen, this coaching staff finds a way to respond in a big way. During the 2022 recruiting cycle, Seminole fans cling to hope as they had secured a commitment from a generational talent, two-way superstar Travis Hunter.

Even with the 5-7 finish during the 2022 season, Hunter expressed his faithfulness to the Seminoles after being pledged to the program for years. It seems like it was a foregone conclusion that he would sign with Florida State in December.

Unfortunately, on the morning of Signing Day, the bombshell erupted as Hunter had received a crystal ball prediction to former Florida State defensive back Deion Sanders and Jackson State. Then when the Signing Day ceremony came around, Hunter picked up the Florida State hat and threw it into the crowd of people in attendance for the ceremony.

He chose Jackson State and fans were livid (for good reason). Just when you thought the Jacksonville State loss was rock bottom, it became apparent that there was still more bad news in store.

It could have been easy for Norvell and company to get discouraged. However, they elected to put their head down and work. Luckily for Florida State, they were able to secure the signing of former four-star cornerback Azareye'h Thomas from Niceville, Florida.

That was an underrated signing as Thomas looks to be one of the Seminoles' best players on their roster during the 2024 season. While fans will likely never forget the Hunter situation, I do feel like the coaching staff handled the situation as best as they could.
