STAR IN THE MAKING

Wright became a star during her high school career at Liberty-Eylau. She had a well-decorated career as she drew interest from multiple schools across the country. Staying close to home was Wright’s best bet. She committed to play for Baylor University which was coached by the legendary Kim Mulkey. Wright played two seasons at Baylor before eventually entering the transfer portal in 2015.

Sure, Baylor was one of the top contending teams in the Big 12. In many people’s eyes, they had all of the tools to win a national championship. However, Wright didn’t have the opportunity to reach her full potential at Baylor. With that being said, she decided to explore more options on where to continue her college career.

Luckily, Florida State was one of Wright’s top options to transfer. Head coach Sue Semrau built a terrific culture in Tallahassee and she helped several players reach their full potential. The Seminoles’ dedication to greatness played a factor in Wright’s decision to join the program and wear garnet and gold colors.

It was a beauty for Imani Wright to join Florida State. She had a chance to be a part of a great culture that Coach Semrau built for so many years. Wright had the luxury of playing next to key players like Shakayla Thomas, Brittany Brown, Leticia Romero, and several others.
