FSU softball (36-10, 15-3 ACC) swept the Boston College Eagles with a 10-3 win Sunday afternoon. It was the 10th consecutive win for the Noles, and their fifth consecutive ACC series win since losing two of three against Duke earlier this season. Ironically, Duke lost its series against Virginia, which moves FSU softball into first place in the ACC standings. The win over Boston College also clinches their spot in the ACC Championship. The Eagles were better than their record, as I stated in the preview, mainly because of their pitching. FSU scored 10 runs in the first two games. However, the FSU offense exploded for 10 runs in Sunday's game. Kaley Mudge, Jaysoni Beachum, and Isa Torres had three hits, and Beachum had a home run. Katie Dack went 2-4 with a home run, and Devyn Flaherty went 2-3. Ashtyn Danley and Makenna Reid carried the majority of the pitching load, with Emma Wilson chipping in with 2.2 innings pitched in Sunday's start. FSU pitchers limited Boston College to four runs, four walks, and 16 hits in the series. The FSU offense, led by Mudge, Beachum, Torres, and Devyn Flaherty's bat is finally coming to life. The FSU offense had 26 hits and eight walks in the series.

The Noles will travel to play the No. 10 rival Florida Gators Tuesday night before hosting the North Carolina Tarheels in a three-game series next weekend. They will host Florida the following week before traveling to Syracuse for the regular season finale. North Carolina and Syracuse are near the middle and bottom of the ACC standings. If things hold, FSU should finish the regular season atop the ACC standings, which was in question a few weeks ago. However, credit Coach Alameda for pushing the right buttons and finding consistency in the circle.
