FSU softball (31-10, 12-3 ACC) run-ruled Notre Dame 10-2 Sunday afternoon to complete its three-game series sweep. It's the fourth consecutive ACC series win since losing the Duke series and their third ACC series sweep. The Noles continue to get it done without Allison Royalty for the third straight week, and without big hitter Michaela Edenfield this weekend after she broke her finger last week. The Fighting Irish are not near the top of the ACC but are probably a step up from the NC State's and Pittsburgh's in the league.

The Noles didn't get off to a great start against Notre Dame on Friday when they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. However, FSU recovered and never trailed again in the entire series. It was a total team effort in all three phases, although the defense was not as sharp as one would have liked. They committed four errors in the series, but the FSU pitching staff overcame the miscues to hold Notre Dame to seven runs (five earned) in the series. Here are some major takeaways from the series.
