FSU OC Alex Atkins provides updates on the Seminoles' offensive line unit
OPTIONS TO SNAP THE FOOTBALL
Florida State has a veteran unit this season on the offensive line where assistant coach Alex Atkins knows that his position group is capable of doing great things.
The main worry was that the Seminoles only had Maurice Smith and Darius Washington who could effectively snap the football. Both Smith and Washington are both seniors. As a result, Florida State will have to locate options that could carry on that task.
Atkins told the media on Monday afternoon that Maurice Smith, Darius Washington, Terrence Ferguson II, Richie Leonard IV, Andre Otto, and Tye Hylton cross-training at the center position. Florida State must have so many options in their offensive line due to the injuries that come with playing the position.
I believe the logical choice next season for life after Smith and Washington would be junior Alabama transfer Terrence Ferguson II. His frame at 6'4" and 320 pounds could give the Seminoles a massive size advantage in the trenches.
