FSU HC Mike Norvell mentions two true freshmen at ACC Kickoff media event
Florida State football is less than five weeks away from the Seminoles' 2024 season opener versus Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin, Ireland. Fans are starting to get super excited about the product on the field that head football coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff have constructed.
The Seminoles had a successful 2024 recruiting class filled with many talented prospects. The future foundation of the program is being set. Many college football teams have utilized the transfer portal and recruiting to transform their roster into something special.
Florida State recruited well at the wide receiver and defensive backs during the 2024 recruiting cycle. Norvell spoke to the media at ACC Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina where he mentioned how well true freshman wide receiver Elijah Moore and defensive back Ricky Knight III were coming along.
Moore seems to be a big-bodied wide receiver prospect that could be someone who contributes earlier than some individuals anticipate. Even though he arrived to Tallahassee this summer, the Seminoles could certainly use his 6'4" frame in the offense as they look to replicate the production of Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson who are off to the NFL.
As for Knight III, he is somewhat of the forgotten prospect as four-star signees Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard (injured at the moment), and Cai Bates get the discussion. However, the Cardinal Newman High School standout is someone who could make some noise if he pieces everything together.
Overall, it is very encouraging to see Norvell mention two of his true freshmen as they begin to generate some consistency as we quickly approach fall camp. Even though it is difficult to be a starter as a true freshman, this could be a great moment for them as they look to carve a role for themselves and showcase their talents.
