Florida State has been dealt with adversity with their defensive line commitments as five-star Armondo Blount elected to cancel his official visit to the Seminoles and visit Miami this weekend.

As a result, the Seminoles' coaching staff is having to figure out how to weather the storm and gain viable prospects in the recruiting class. As of now, other than Blount, Florida State only has two defensive lineman commitments in the fold with four-star defensive end DD Holmes and three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg.

McCray has been committed to the arch-rival Florida Gators since October 21. The talented defender took an official visit to Florida State on October 7. The coaching staff certainly thought that it stood a good chance with the Daytona Beach (FL) native.

Even with the Gators's struggles on the field, where they lost five straight games to end the 2023 season, McCray has elected to stick with his verbal pledge.

One team to monitor other than Florida State is the Auburn Tigers. First-year head football coach Hugh Freeze has certainly made his presence felt by obtaining highly-touted prospects. Florida State and Auburn made their last impression on the five-star prospect as he unofficially visited the Seminoles on December 8th, while he visited the Tigers on December 9th.
