I thought they said FSU would fall off?

FSU football will fall off after 2023. They will be a one-year wonder with all of those transfer players. FSU will take a huge step back after having 10 players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Those have been the narratives from rival fans and uninformed folks who don't have their pulse on the program. FSU signed its best high school recruiting class in the Mike Norvell era and continued to dominate transfer portal recruiting to put together a roster that's arguably deeper than the 2023 team that went 13-0 in the regular season. It's not only FSU football fans saying this now, as the ACC media cast their 2024 preseason votes on Wednesday:

FSU football took the No. 1 spot, with Clemson holding a firm grip on second place and the offseason champs in Coral Gables finishing third. Ironically, Miami didn't finish with the most first-place votes. They supposedly have their most talented team in years and play a cupcake schedule aside from maybe 3-4 games. Who gave first-place votes to California, Georgia Tech, and Boston College? Please take away their voting rights expeditiously. I'm surprised SMU didn't garner at least one first-place vote since many folks think they are a dark horse candidate after winning 11 games last season. However, all three losses came against Power 5 teams. The fall off with Wake Forest has been swift! I won't complain about NC State receiving first-place votes because they have been a model of consistency in recent years. I'm somewhat surprised Louisville didn't receive at least one first-place vote after making the ACC Title game last year. Overall, it's not a terrible poll, but I think folks realize Mike Norvell stacked talent everywhere on the roster over the past 2-3 years. It finally feels like things are back in order with FSU on top in the ACC once again.
