FSU football: Top 5 toughest games on 2024 schedule
By Kelvin Hunt
Parting Thoughts
There isn't much else to be worried about on the FSU schedule. Memphis could have made the list, but they ranked No. 56 overall via FEI advanced metrics. They had a solid quarterback, but FSU will have the best defense they face all season, and their defense was terrible last season. Florida may not have a head coach by the end of the season. Duke is Duke. UNC will not have a first round draft pick at quarterback, and Mack Brown has never beaten FSU, even when he had an NFL quarterback. California isn't good, and Boston College has a new staff and not much talent overall.
Although FSU has many new faces, most have tons of experience and come from programs that were used to winning. That means it shouldn't take long for things to gel and to get things rolling. Mike Norvell always has his teams well prepared, and if FSU loses games this year, it'll likely come down to two things. They have a game(s) with multiple turnovers or bad injury luck at a position with little proven experience.
