Trey Benson-Transfer

Trey Benson was another transfer take folks were critical of when he committed to the Noles after his time at Oregon. Admittedly, the criticism had some legitimacy, considering Benson suffered a catastrophic knee injury at Oregon. He tallied six carries for 22 yards and one touchdown out West. Nevertheless, the coaching staff did their due diligence, and Benson evolved into one of the top running backs in the ACC in his two years with FSU. He struggled with confidence early in the 2022 season but became a difference-maker once Treshaun Ward got hurt. Benson was Second Team All-ACC both years and tallied 23 rushing touchdowns, ranking 11th on FSU’s all-time list, and 1,895 rushing yards, which is 18th in program history. Benson was the No. 66 overall selection(third round) in the 2024 NFL Draft.
