Jared Verse-Transfer

I could have arguably listed Jared Verse higher on this list. The guy has ONE scholarship offer out of high school and decided to use the pandemic to transfer his body into something that would catch the eye of FSU football coaches when they were watching a game between Syracuse and his college team. Verse was one of the most sought-after transfer defensive ends in the 2022 recruiting cycle. However, he would not have been a first-round draft pick had been eligible to enter the NFL Draft that season. Verse enrolled at FSU with tremendous potential, but was very raw from a technique standpoint. An injury early in the season affected his play somewhat, but he still had a monster season, earning All-ACC honors. He likely would have been a late first-round or early second-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft but decided to return to FSU for one more season. Verse continued to hone his craft, learning to dominate against the run and the pass, often getting double-teamed, and became the No. 19 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
