FSU football: Three underrated transfer signings for the Seminoles this offseason
WEST VIRGINIA DL TOMIWA DUROJAIYE
Florida State knew that it had to replace some special pieces on its defensive line this offseason after losing Jared Verse, Fabien Lovett Sr., and Braden Fiske. However, this coaching staff ended up adding talented pieces.
One notable pickup was a West Virginia defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye. The acquisition was massive for the Seminoles due to Durojaiye's ability to line up as a defensive end or defensive tackle. During the 2023 season, the talented defender had 23 tackles (six for loss) and 3.5 sacks.
While Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. will get much of the shine as a potential starter to pair alongside Patrick Payton, Durojaiye does not get the love that he deserves. His game and versatility remind me of former Florida State defensive lineman Keir Thomas.
It looks like Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr. could be good players who get a ton of burn at the defensive tackle position, but the West Virginia standout can be sneaky good for the foundation of the defensive line. Plus, he has three years of eligibility remaining.
