KEEPING LESTER III IN THE FOLD

While Florida State did lose five-star safety commit KJ Bolden from Buford (GA) to the home-state Georgia Bulldogs, the Seminoles were able to hang on to four-star cornerback Charles Lester III.

Lester III was considered the 39th-best prospect according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The talented defensive back mentioned that Colorado has been a team that has been involved in his recruitment in the past. With the fans always mentioning the Travis Hunter situation, it was nice to see the coaching staff not lose another prospect to head football coach Deion Sanders and company.

The Venice High School standout had been committed to the Seminoles since July. He is planning on playing both sides of the football. I could envision Lester III even getting some opportunities at special teams in his first season.

Make no mistake about it, this was a massive pickup for this coaching staff as defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. enters his second season with the program.
