FSU football: Three players who will have significant snaps in the Orange Bowl
RB CAZIAH HOLMES
The former Penn State running back transfer Caziah Holmes has not had a ton of opportunities while in the garnet and gold. However, with redshirt junior Trey Benson skipping the bowl game and declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, redshirt sophomore CJ Campbell Jr. transferring to Florida Atlantic, and redshirt freshman Rodney Hill transferring to Florida A&M, this allows Holmes to get more playing time.
Holmes has been productive when his number has been called where he has recorded 21 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns. This is a bit of a shot in the dart in terms of projecting him to break out in this game considering that he did not have a rushing attempt in the ACC Championship Game victory over Louisville.
Running backs coach David Johnson always emphasizes the importance of having a "next man up" mentality. With the amount of rushers unavailable, Holmes and redshirt junior Lawrance Toafili will both be pivotal pieces.
