RB JAYLIN LUCAS

This is more of an underrated pick within the article. However, I decided to use my last selection on Indiana sophomore running back Jaylin Lucas. He is the brother of current Florida State wide receiver JaKhi Douglas.

While Lucas is technically listed as a running back, he will be primarily utilized as a kickoff returner for the Seminoles. We all know how valued the special teams game is to head football coach Mike Norvell. Ever since his introductory press conference with Florida State, he has expressed how the special teams aspect is the foundation of a program.

Fans saw the improvement of kicker Ryan Fitzgerald and punter Alex Mastromanno (who will be returning in 2024) last season. It was also pleasant to see wide receiver Keon Coleman have a successful campaign returning punts and to have wide receiver Deuce Spann have a kickoff return for a touchdown versus Duke.

However, fans understand that the Seminoles haven't had a dynamic kickoff returner since Kermit Whitfield back in 2013-2016 as well as Greg Reid from 2009-2011. Lucas had 43 kickoff returns for 1,163 yards and 3 touchdowns during his two seasons with the Hoosiers.

If you can start with a good field position on offense, it could mean positive developments for the team's ability to score points. Jaylin Lucas has the capability to take it the distance anytime that he has the football in his hands.
