FSU football: The Battle's End retaining current players for 2024
FSU football did a tremendous job in 2023 in which they currently possess a 13-0 record. While the job is not finished due to having to play the Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl on Saturday, December 30th at 4:00 PM EST, the attention is seemingly starting to revolve around the 2024 season with the College Football Playoff committee snubbing the Seminoles of an opportunity to win a national championship.
There have already been several key players who had at least a year of eligibility that have decided to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft and opt out of the Orange Bowl (who could truly blame them) such as running back Trey Benson, wide receivers Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson, tight end Jaheim Bell, and defensive end Jared Verse.
Head football coach Mike Norvell and company understand that they need to retain the talent that they have on the football team as well as acquire talent via the recruiting trail and transfer portal to be successful in today's landscape of college football.
Florida State benefitted from bringing back quality players in the 2022 offseason such as quarterback Jordan Travis, running back Trey Benson, wide receiver Johnny Wilson, defensive end Jared Verse, and defensive tackle Fabien Lovett Sr., among others. It certainly has a huge confidence booster to have an abundance of experienced players returning.
Name, Image, and Likeness have become a vital part of bringing success to a variety of programs. This wide variety of opportunities allows these student-athletes to become successful in life during and after football. One of Florida State's NIL platforms "The Battle's End" has spearheaded the movement of maximizing everything that the players have in front of them.
