FSU football has been largely successful during the 2024 recruiting cycle where they have secured the third-best recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. However, with the December 20th Early Signing Period approaching quickly, the coaching staff wants to finish the legendary class on a positive note.

The Seminoles have two highly-touted commitments that have been rumored to flip to other schools with five-star safety KJ Bolden from Buford (GA) and five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount from Miami (FL).

KJ BOLDEN

Let's start by discussing five-star safety KJ Bolden. The talented defensive back has been committed to the Seminoles since August 5th. Leading up to his pledge with Florida State, the home-state Georgia Bulldogs were the crystal ball favorite.

However, first-year defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. was able to battle through and win out for his services.

As most individuals know, recruiting is a fluent process that involves teenagers making some of the biggest decisions in their lifetimes. Besides Georgia, Auburn has emerged as a serious contender for Bolden.

He has a tremendous relationship with head football coach Hugh Freeze and has unofficially visited the Tigers twice this fall. The coaching staff understands the magnitude of the situation involving the Auburn Tigers.

As a result, head football coach Mike Norvell, defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr., defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins all conducted an in-home visit recently with the talented defensive back.

ARMONDO BLOUNT

As for Blount, things have gone south as the five-star defender has now canceled his official visit with the Seminoles. He has been committed to Florida State since October 22.

The Miami (FL) native will now be visiting the Hurricanes instead. Blount was previously committed to Miami, but ultimately decided to flip to their arch-rival Florida State Seminoles. As most know, head football coach Mario Cristobal is a relentless recruiter, but has not display much on-field success during his tenure in Coral Gables.

Noles247 Contributor Zach Blostein has put in a flip crystal ball prediction from Florida State to Miami for Blount. This could be a massive loss for Florida State as they would only have four-star defensive end DD Holmes and three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg committed to the fold.
