Florida State football is now sitting at 0-3 with losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Memphis. This 2024 season looks like a wash after the Seminoles were projected to win the conference and make the College Football Playoff.

It is so horrific that the Seminoles' under of the 9.5-win total has already cashed through three games of the year. It worsens that the head football coach Mike Norvell has expressed confidence in this squad. It looks like the practices are not translated into the games.

This season looks like it will get progressively worse as it goes on. As a result, I do expect Norvell to make staff changes after the year. I am certainly not one to put up pitchforks and call for someone's job. However, there needs to be changes as select position groups are not being developed properly and are not being recruited at a high level.

I know that it had to be difficult this past offseason for Norvell as they accomplished a 13-1 season in 2023 (basically 13-0 if you didn't want to count the laughter of the Orange Bowl). His hands were tied as the players were playing well (there were ten NFL draft picks on the roster), and the recruiting class finished in the top 20.

Norvell emphasized the importance of continuity in his coaching staff. That is one of his recruiting pitches where his program is one of few in the country that had the same returning coaching staff from a season ago.

I can understand a notion from this where the players could have a familiar voice to turn to when they are confused and the fact that the entire coaching staff is on the same page. However, in Norvell's fifth year at Florida State, a 0-3 record should not be happening.

All in all, I expect at least three coaching changes (I will let you explore what changes will be) this offseason as Florida State football looks to get back to the proud standard of the program.
