FSU football recruiting: 4-star LB prospect Izayia Williams commits to Florida State
Florida State football has experienced lows within the program as they have now suffered losses to Georgia Tech and Boston College. The Seminoles were projected to finish first in the conference, but after two early conference losses, some individuals started to wonder if the program would even make a bowl game.
We at ChopChat have expressed the notion that we believe in head football coach Mike Norvell and this football team. However, we also know that there are frustration given that it is Norvell's fifth year at the helm.
Nonetheless, the Seminoles have an unconquered spirit. Even some of the commit have expressed their pledge to the university. As it stands, it has to be difficult to see how the program is currently at and think that the same goal of being in the College Football Playoff or even winning the conference is obtainable (there is technically still a chance- as of right now).
On Wednesday afternoon, Class of 2026 four-star linebacker Izayia Williams from Tavares High School in Leesburg, Florida has committed to Florida State. Recruiting has been slow lately. However, Williams recently backed off his pledge with Syracuse and came down to Tallahassee for an unofficial visit with the Seminoles as they took on Boston College on Labor Day Night.
Williams got to see a sold-out Doak Campbell Stadium. Even though the renovations are going on and the loss happened, there is nothing like witnessing the stadium at night.
The linebacker position is something that a ton of fans clamor for with losing Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune last year. The unit needs to be rehauled with talented pieces that can make a difference. Williams is a linebacker prospect that is very instinctual where he moves sideline to sideline well and comes down in run support.
I am excited to see his game continue to develop.
