FSU football: Ranking all top coaches in the ACC (2024)

Mack Brown (North Carolina) 282-149-1 overall, 64-53-1 ACC
A name familiar to most remains in the top 10, unchanged from the No. 5 spot from where I had him entering the 2023 season. Mack Brown returns for another year at North Carolina, where he'll likely do more with less. Brown consistently underachieves despite having top-tier quarterbacks. However, he's a model of consistency, winning at least eight games in three of the last four seasons.
The 2024 season will tell us many things about Brown and the North Carolina program. They will have a new quarterback and new personnel at several positions. Brown will turn 73 years old later this year. Will he have what it takes to keep North Carolina competitive, or will this year be the first of the downward trends we typically begin to see from coaches his age?
