Dave Clawson (Wake Forest) 153-141 overall, 30-49 ACC

I had Clawson at No. 6 entering 2023, but I knew we'd see him slip a notch once he lost his quarterback, who had been there a decade, and all of those super seniors. The days of Wake Forest surprising teams are over, especially now that FSU is serious about football again. I respect what Clawson has done at Wake Forest, but I suspect he'll continue to slide down this list as the years go on.

He probably should have left the Demon Deacons when he was a hot commodity, and they were winning. Wake Forest has gone from 11 wins to eight wins, to four wins over the last three seasons. Wake Forest isn't a place that can attract elite talent, nor can they keep players who develop because of how the transfer portal works.
