Brent Pry (Virginia Tech) 10-14 overall, 6-9 ACC

I had Pry at No. 12 (out of 14 coaches) last year. I know some casuals will look at this list and see Brent Pry and No. 9 and might raise their eyebrows. However, the turnaround at Virginia Tech under Pry in his first two years has been impressive. The Hokies only won three games in his first year, and only one ACC game. However, Virginia Tech won seven games total, five ACC games, and their bowl game in 2023 to finish 7-6.

Virginia Tech effectively used the transfer portal to close the gap on some of their competition. They play hard and don't lay down for opponents if they get down early, just turn on the FSU game last year. The Hokies return a lot of the nucleus that helped with the turnaround and should be a tough out for many opponents on their schedule in 2024.
