Florida State football rolls into another week as they take on California in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles currently possess a 0-3 record with losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Memphis.

The squad has not lived up to its preseason expectations after accomplishing an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023. However, the reality is that the significant contributors from that team have moved on to the NFL.

Florida State welcomed in over forty newcomers this offseason. While I do not think that should be utilized as an excuse, it is reasonable to wonder who is leading by example on the 2024 version of this roster.

I thought this team could make a ton of changes after losing to Memphis by a score of 20-0 on Saturday. Their effort and execution on the offensive side of the football were difficult to watch, where the quarterback couldn't get anything going downfield, the running game was non-existent, wide receiver drops, and the offensive line was not establishing the line of scrimmage.

Florida State released the projected depth chart for the California game on Monday afternoon.

Throughout the tenure of head football coach Mike Norvell at Florida State, these projected depth charts have been seen to be meaningless. It looks like it is copy-and-paste for the majority of the time each week.

While I do not feel as though quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is the main reason that Florida State has a 0-3 record, many fans have been wanting the program to go in a different direction for the starting signal-caller as redshirt freshman Brock Glenn has been the player that they want inserted.

I would be surprised if Norvell trots out Uiagalelei on Saturday night versus California due to the offensive consistencies this season. I am not suggesting that Glenn will fix everything or even make it better. However, the youth movement could begin as the Seminoles continue to struggle on the field.
