North Carolina Tarheels (8-5, 4-4 ACC)

There are not many coaches that do less with more than North Carolina's Mack Brown. He can recruit quarterbacks that become high NFL Draft picks, but he can't win games that matter and routinely loses against teams they should beat. The 2023 season was no different, as North Carolina had to go to double overtime to beat Appalachian State at home and lost to Virginia and Georgia Tech after starting the season 5-0 and beating a ranked Miami team.

They also lost five of their final seven games. Brown has recruited well for a team located in North Carolina and secured a commitment from former Texas A&M QB Max Johnson and his brother(former blue-chip TE). The team has a new defensive coordinator (former GT head coach Geoff Collins). North Carolina has a favorable schedule and could start the season 6-0 unless Brown pulls a Brown.
