FSU football had a lot of firsts in the Mike Norvell era in 2023. The Noles went undefeated in the ACC, defeated Clemson for the first time since 2014, won the ACC, and had 10 players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. They also became the first undefeated Power Five conference champion to not make the College Football Playoff. However, that has turned out to be somewhat of a blessing in disguise, with FSU filing a lawsuit to leave the ACC a few weeks afterward. FSU leaving the ACC is only a matter of time, and Mike Norvell is allowing the lawyers to handle their business with that matter. However, Mike Norvell and the coaching staff knew they had a lot of top-tier players to replace after 2023.

FSU had six top 100 players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft last month. It's why they used their transfer portal magic to take some of the best players from the winter portal window. I've written about why it's important to win that portal window compared to the spring. There's less talent available in the spring window, and those players don't receive the benefits of experiencing spring camp with their new school. There's a reason why betting sites have FSU football as the early betting favorite in nearly all of its 2024 games. The ACC added three new schools for the 2024 season. Here are my power rankings for all 17 teams.
