Florida State offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins has been highly regarded as one of the top up-and-coming assistant coaches in all of college football. He has been tasked with turning around a Seminoles' offensive line unit that was considered the worst in the country a while back.

The Seminoles led on experience from the offensive line unit during the 2023 season as they consistently put out an eight-man rotation, which consisted of Robert Scott Jr., Casey Roddick, Maurice Smith, D'Mitri Emmanuel, Jeremiah Byers, Darius Washington, Bless Harris, and Keiondre Jones.

When looking at the rotation utilized from this past season, Roddick and Emmanuel will be exceeding their eligibilities after the Orange Bowl matchup and Harris has already entered the transfer portal and committed to the TCU Horn Frogs.

As a result, Atkins will have to tap into the transfer portal to acquire viable starters for potentially an offensive tackle (which are difficult to come by) and an interior offensive lineman (preferably someone who can snap the football for life after Smith/Washington).
