FSU football: Positional transfer needs this offseason for the Noles

The Florida State Seminoles will be addressing the transfer portal this offseason as they hope to continue positive momentum.

TIGHT END

Let's give it up for Florida State tight ends coach Chris Thomsen for the fantastic job that he has done with turning that position unit around.

The tight end position has always been a staple in head football coach Mike Norvell's offensive system. That was no different in 2023 as redshirt junior Jaheim Bell had 39 receptions for 503 yards and two touchdowns and junior Kyle Morlock came on late in the season to finish with 19 catches for 255 yards.

Florida State will now have to replenish the talent in the room since Bell has elected to skip the Orange Bowl and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft and redshirt junior Markeston Douglas has transferred to the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Overall, I like that the Seminoles will be relying upon Kyle Morlock, Landen Thomas (who Norvell referred to as the "best tight end in America"), and one of either Jackson West, Jerrale Powers, or Brian Courtney.
