FSU football: Positional transfer needs this offseason for the Noles
WIDE RECEIVER
Florida State had the luxury of possessing two superstar pass catchers in redshirt junior Johnny Wilson and junior Keon Coleman. Both of them have elected to skip the Orange Bowl and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft (a smart business move for both players).
The big-bodied wide receivers combined to have 91 receptions for 1,275 yards and 13 touchdowns. They became an immediate safety valve for quarterback Jordan Travis in the offense.
As it relates to the wide receivers returning, coach Ron Dugans will likely have to rely upon players such as Ja'Khi Douglas, Darion Williamson, Kentron Poitier, Destyn Hill, Deuce Spann, Vandrevius Jacobs, Hykeem Williams, or maybe even one of the true freshmen that will be arriving this offseason.
Nonetheless, this is a position unit that has the talent and potential to be successful. However, none of these players have relied upon to put up big statistical numbers.
I expect the coaching staff to acquire a transfer portal wide receiver this offseason to build proven depth in the room.
