FSU football players shined at NFL Combine, How it impacts program
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football had one player drafted in each of the last two NFL Drafts. FSU has four or more players drafted in seven of 10 drafts between 2012 and 2021. The lack of players drafted was reflective of the roster when Mike Norvell got hired in December 2019. The two players selected in the last two drafts? Those players were guys Mike Norvell recruited via the transfer portal, a method he and the staff have nearly perfected to return FSU football to national prominence over the last two years. The Noles have gone 23-4 over the past two seasons, and a large reason for the success was the 12 players who received invitations to the 2024 NFL Combine.
Jordan Travis, Kalen Deloach, Renardo Green, Jarrian Jones, Fabien Lovett, Braden Fiske, Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, Tatum Bethune, Jared Verse, and Jaheim Bell were the 12 players. The six biggest winners were these guys here. However, I expect at least half of these guys to get drafted, and it's likely at least eight will. If seven guys get drafted, that'll be the most since the 2015 draft when FSU had 11 guys go. A couple of the players didn't do much of the workouts and will likely go all out at the FSU Pro Day later this month, which could help their draft stock. What does all this positivity mean for the program? I'm glad you asked.
