FSU football: Noles are involved with two highly-touted transfer prospects
DE NIC SCOURTON
Florida State requires replenishing depth at the defensive end position. While the Seminoles have talented pieces in the position room such as Patrick Payton, Marvin Jones Jr., Gilber Edmond, and Byron Turner Jr., they would still like to add another pass rusher to the rotation.
Within a great defensive unit, you can never have enough pass rushers. This is especially true when the Seminoles are having to replace the likes of ultra-talented Jared Verse, who combined for 18 sacks during his two-year playing career in Tallahassee.
According to a report from On3's College Sports Business and Transfer Portal Reporter Pete Nakos, Purdue defensive end transfer Nic Scourton plans to take an official visit to Florida State on January 3rd.
Scourton recorded 50 total tackles (15 tackles for loss) and 10 sacks during the 2023 season. The talented pass rusher recorded one sacks in the matchup versus Ohio State while also having two sacks against Michigan. This shows that his production translates against stiffer competition.
I would be foolish if I did not mention that Scourton will be visiting Louisville on January 4th. That visit will be monumental for him and the Seminoles will need to do everything in their power to knock the trip out of the park for him.
