FSU football: Nole 2024 signees arrive on campus
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football added 27 new players in the spring semester from the transfer portal and the high school recruiting ranks. It was a great mixture of experienced players and young players with a ton of potential. However, several players could not enroll early from high school or during the winter transfer portal window. FSU had 10 high school players who signed and didn't enroll early and three spring commitments from players during the spring transfer portal window. Those 13 players began to arrive in Tallahassee today and were welcomed by FSU head coach Mike Norvell and the coaching staff. Here's a running list of high school and transfer players expected to arrive:
High School
- Manasse Itete: 4-star OL
- Amaree Williams: 4-star DE
- Micahi Danzy: 4-star RB
- Elijah Moore: 4-star WR
- Jonathan Daniels: 4-star OL
- DD Holmes: 4-star DE
- Ricky Knight III: 4-star DB
- D'Nas White: 3-star DT
- Jamorie Flagg: 3-star DT
- Jake Weinberg: 3-star Kicker
Transfer Players
- Cam Riley: 4-star LB
- Omarion Cooper: 4-star DB
- Jacob Rizy: 3-star OL
That's a lot of blue-chip talent joining the program, but these players not experiencing Tour of Duty and spring camp put them behind the curve a bit, compared to those who enrolled in the spring. Of these new additions, the transfers likely have the best shot at getting on the field in the fall. Riley has experience and is a linebacker, a position of need. Omarion Cooper began his career at FSU and is familiar with the defensive system, which will shorten his learning curve from Colorado. Rizy has a ton of experience on the offensive line at Havard. Most high school additions need time in the strength and conditioning program before they can begin competing for playing time. However, I like the potential of Elijah Moore, Ricky Knight, and DD Holmes. Moore and Holmes have mature physical attributes compared to most high schoolers. Knight is a polished defensive back, and that position lends itself to freshmen getting on the field earlier than most. I can't wait to see how these new additions integrate into the program.
