Receivers/Tight End

Mike Norvell spent time talking about Malik Benson and the touchdown he scored in the scrimmage. He also mentioned freshman tight end Landen Thomas and freshman wide receiver Lawayne McCoy making a couple of really nice plays. We must remember this was mostly a situational scrimmage, so everyone may not get the same opportunities with the same group of players. The fact Benson got brought up and had production in the scrimmage was excellent.

FSU needs him to be a dude this fall. Landen Thomas having his name mentioned ahead of some older guys isn't good for them, but it's a good sign for Thomas. McCoy is a freak, and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't find a way to get on the field as a freshman this fall. I wonder if some older guys like Ja'Khi Douglas, Darion Williamson, and Kentron Poitier had any reps in the scrimmage? Nevertheless, it sounds like there were some explosive plays on offense.
